Trip to see Santa

Well we are off to see Santa. I know everyone one within the city block will know when we arrive cause Gretchie will let it rip big time when she see the other dogs waiting in line to see him too., I asked a friend to go with me. She will have Pearl and I will have the coonizlla aka Gretchie. I hope to a least get a decent if not perfect pic. Wish us luck going to need it.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR GRRRRRRRRR Haven't even left the house yet n GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I left the room and guess who counter surfed n ate the snacks I was going to take with us  as a bribe before I returned. Yep, Gretchen May cause Pearl was with me. I for see coal in some pup socking this year :(
She is trying to butter up to me right now. She is only sorry that she got caught with  the snacks in her mouth not that she stole them ! LOL
    Ta da
Doing the happy dance after a bad start before we even left the house. Wow , I am so happy they took a a great pic. Gretchie was soooooooo good at the store I was totally amazed. This is a pic that Aunt Bree took of them getting their pic taken, Clean up in aisle one. Pearl kind of left a big puddle of pee in front of the table where we picked up our pic's. Oh, all in the day of being owned by TWC'S

Pearl and her Goose egg.

Yes that is a goose egg where it came from is a anybodies guess. This is another out of the blue medical thing that has happened to my girl Pearl. A large swelling on top of her head. It is not connected to the glaucoma in her left eye....whew... no puncture wound so why it is there we have no idea. She was given SIMPLICE 10 mg to treat the infection under the skin for 2wks once a day. (the med is a cephalosporins are indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment ...of infections caused by bacteria susceptible to this particular form of antibiotic.) If not going down in a wk she needs to have it lanced open to drain. Today the Vet took out 2ml of puss (sp) out of it. Whew.. no cancer cells just a infection I can deal with that. Of course Gretchie went along with Pearl for the vet visit for moral support and did a fine job.

Quack Quack

Smart coonie. I brought 3 bags of duck treats from Costco the other day. I have been giving them each a piece calling it quack quack a couple of times a day. Today I just said the words.....quack quack and Gretchie comes a runnin. She looks to the counter where the treat bag is sitting. It was not in the cupboard with all the other treats so she knows what quack quack means and where it was sitting.. Than in true coonie fashion demanded a piece ! LOL

Silly Pearl

The last couple of times we have gone to the dog park we had taken the car cause we had ran errands first. This time Pearl & I walked over to the park for the 2nd anniversary party. When it was time to leave I could not get up Pearl to leave the parking lot. She wanted to ride home in the car which we did not have. She put her houndie brakes on & would not leave the parking lot. She keep looking over her shoulder like she wanted me to go over there to get the car. Spoiled DIVA TWC !!

P.S. the coat she has on says....Dog Park Security I got it for her cause she always is standing by the entrance gate. Just like security people do. LOL
Here is Gretchen modeling it for you.

We had been to the dog park the other day and took Rocky the racoon toy with us. It was still in the car this morning and Gretchie threw it up in the air and this is where it landed. LOL

Girls checking out the sand hill at the park. Gretchie has Rocky in a death grip.

Determined Gretchie

It was late the other night and I was finishing up on the computer with Gretchie by my side.  Pearl was already fast a sleep on my bed upstairs. Gretchie, got it in her head that she wanted a treat and was deterimed to have me give her one. I was trying my best to ignore her. She sat ,did a bow, paw, spoke anything she could think of to have me give her a treat. I said no. So what does she do? She goes up stairs and barks and bugs Pearl until Pearl gets up and comes down stairs. Why did Gretchie do that ? Cause Gretchie knows she gets a treat when she gets Pearl to come down stairs when I ask her to. I didn't ask this time but she wanted a treat real bad so did it all on her own. I did give them a treat but told her from now on she only gets treats when I ask her to go get Pearl.  Poor Pearl ,I think she thought it was din din time again. Who says dogs aren't smart...they never met my determined TWC!

P. S. the roller treat was a free sample given to me when I was doing adoption event at Pet Supplies Plus. The girls love it.

We are awesome four legged dogs.

Gretchie here, Pearl and I are going to take turns posting on mom's blog.

Chewed name badge belonging to Gretchie

Yep, I am a volunteer at where Grandpaws calls home. I have to wear my name badge when I go there. Sometime I get a little bored and want to move on from where we are. I start to chew on my name badge which gets moms attention. Even though I get talked to about chewing on my badge she gets the message and we move on. Pearls name badge looks like the first day she got it. No chew marks on hers, if she gets bored she will just lay down and go to sleep. Not me I want to see what and who else there is to see while we are there.
Mom always go to Grandpaws dining room and gets us two tall paper glasses of crush ice from the ice machine. If they are eating in there we are not allowed until they are done. So mom gets the ice without our help. We take it back to Grandpaws room and chow down on it. Our long noses fit nicely in cups to get every last piece of ice in the bottom. When we are done the cups are not good for holding anything at all so mom has to throw them away for us. Grandpaw thinks it is funny the way we eat ice. When the ice is all done we both jump up on his bed to take a little nap......  to be continue

How does a TWC get even?

Too funny. Here on the first Friday of the month at noon they test the warning siren for tornados . My Gretchie was outside in the back yard baying with the siren... my not so nice neighbor was yelling at her to be quiet.. she took it as he was joining in the baying with her. So what does she do ?????? Of course in the TWC way she looked at him and she starts to bay LOUDER . Who got a good laugh out of it? Me of course. LOL

Wow how time flies

We have been busy with life. Mom is involved with a fairly new rescue named Fur to Feathers Rescue. Like us on fb page https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Fur-To-Feathers-Rescue/125230410868315  So our life has been helping out with that.  Pearl attended one event cause she needed med's during the time mom would of been gone. I stayed home and protected the home against any type of danger that might befall it while they were gone.
Our health is OK for the moment but like the mid west Michigan weather that can change at anytime . It is dinner time so I need to  get off and over to wait for my bowl to be filled and placed on the floor for me to eat.
Love Gretchie May

Pearl's light bulb moment !

Wow, I was just sitting here in the kitchen on the computer and Pearl & Gretchie were out on the deck. All of a sudden Pearl woof, woof.. I got up and let her in. She finally figured out that you woof while standing by the door you will be let in.

I can see that by the stats that I have many visitors to my little blog but only a few friends have commented. Please take a moment and introduce your self's.

Funny Funny Pearl

I am in the kitchen and Gretchen is sleeping in the next room. I was hearing a funny little aroo, aroo, aroo, which I have never heard before. I thought it was coming in the open windows from outside from one of the neighborhood dogs. I get up and go to the window to listen closer. No, it is not coming from outside but coming down from upstairs. Oh, my what is wrong with Pearl. I run up stairs and find Pearl standing at the edge of the bed. She is smiling at me with a puzzle look on her face which said." how am I to get down off the bed, Mom", looking at the floor. In her mind she couldn't get down because of the large pile of dirty bed clothes on the floor in front of her.  I had to move the pile before she would even think about  jumping off the bed.  She looked at me in the eye ..shook her bum bum and happily jumped off the bed. I have never heard her ask for anything before in her 3 yrs living with me. She will bark at outside sounds and when she is riding in the car but otherwise she is very quiet. Unlike her noisy sisser, Gretchie.

Hot Dogs in the summer time

I have two of the cutest hot dogs in the world. In the winter time they curl up into little balls of fur to stay warm. Not so in the summer time. They are stretched out as far as their bodies will go. Even tho it is hotter upstairs even with the fan going that is where Pearl decides to spend her days. Gretchen on the kitchen floor  or the front hallway where it is cooler.
Buying some yogurt on the way home from work to make them some more tuna/yogies. They just eat the up so fast. Hard to keep them in the freezer.
Well ,off to work to earn money to keep my coonies in the lifestyle of the famous and rich.

Mom put the a/c in the window ..would ya

I don't care for a/c unless it is really hot like today and tomorrow, etc, as it is going to be. In the morning I will break down and put it in the window. Cause 8 hot humid days in a row warrants it.
Gretchie can't get comfortable in this heat so she tries to hog the fans. Still complains oh yes she does even tho she has all of the fan ... .I get her hot breathe blown on me. Yucky. A/c you are getting put in asap in the morning.

Food restriction , Grrrrrrrrr

The vet thinks Gretchie bum bum problem may be a food allergy. The med's didn't clear everything up. The only way to find out is to restrict her to her dry food, chicken chicken, rice & home made chicken broth. NO treats homemade or store brought or any of my snacks or meals. Well... she is having none of it. She has stolen two hot dogs, a piece of cheese, crackers, a strawberry.....etc. So I would have to say that this is not going to well & I need to do this for how long, Dr Meyer  WHAT ...........3 MONTHS..........Grrrrrrrrrr. It will be so hard on us cause I see us starting over a lot to make it to 3 months in a row without "restricted" food.

Canadian Friend's dog Sam, needs your prayers

This is what she wrote on her blog ..
http://melsbackyard-mb.blogspot.com/             Sam is very sick.
Pic of handsome Sam copied from her blog

He has a mass under his tongue on both sides. He had surgery to remove the growth and now the waiting game of whether it is cancer or not. A week is a long time to wait for the test to come back. So please join me by keeping them in your thoughts and prayers. I know that Sam will be getting the best TLC that Mel has to offer him.  He will get the best seat for TV viewing during his recovery, the most comfortable cushie, best treats, all the love one dog can get from his two legged mom. Gretchie and Pearlie are pulling for you, Sam the Ham.

Who's fan?

OK , I turn the ceiling fan on....who crowds the bed right under neath it.  You got it the "houndies".  If I have the floor fan running who also lays in right front of it.. panting their hot breathes . Yep per, the "houndies". I am thinking about getting a fan just for me.

We are real coon hounds now.

Mom was not very happy when ... I Gretchie May from a deep snoring ,leg twitching sleep at 3:30 A.M.  ....
woke up with a blood curdling houndie bay ...that could not only wake the sleeping (that being my mom) but the dead as well..... I was beside myself with overwhelming glee a real raccoon in my neighbor's tree a mere 15 feet from my bedroom window....WOO HOO. Even my sisser Diva Pearlie girl sat up right and joined with me at the top of her lungs baying at it.  We were so excited ...mom not so much... being woken up from a deep dream sleep ...to us baying our goofy houndie heads off. Mom took a picture of it and than mom had to go outside to scare it off before we would quit with all the houndie sound.. She was afraid someone would call the law on us being sooo noisy.  OK, mom you can go back to sleep now.....rest assured that your coon hounds know what a raccoon looks and smells like. Nitey Nite Mom , your loving daughter Gretchie May

Gretchen lives for her stomach

Last night I came home from work finding only Gretchen to greet me at the door. We walked to the back door and I let her outside than I went up to get Pearl off the bed. She got up and off the bed so I came back down stairs. I heard Gretchie bark that she was ready to come in so I went to let her in. Turned around and still no Pearl. I gave Gretchie her coming in snack while again I called to Pearl to come down. She was having none of it so I just let her stay up there.
Gretchie wanted her din din and kept bugging me for it. I told her when Pearl gets her bum bum down here I will feed them both. She continued to bug me for close to a 1/2 hour. I finally notice that she had left my side, ummmmmm how come? All of a sudden I hear this weird barking and yapping and whining coming from up stairs. It was so funny to hear Gretchie up there trying to get Pearl up and off the bed.  I heard Pearl jump off of the bed and her feet hit the floor. I heard Gretchie come running down the stairs only to turn back around to go back up cause Pearl wasn't following her. She did some more yapping and barking and finally Pearls starts down the stairs. Gretchie runs to me all happy ...trying to convey that she got her sisser to come down so feed me now. Finally Pearl sticks her head in the kitchen. You could tell that Gretchen was beside herself that she got Pearl to come down stairs all on her own with out my help. I start making din-din for them. I noticed after I bending over Pearl to give her a pat on the head that her head and neck were all wet...my I thought that was strange....... Oh, I laughed  because that was how Gretchie got Pearl to get off of the bed and down stairs by not only barking but mouthing her neck and head. Oh, that Gretchie continues to amaze me how really smart she is.

We made it to Wednesday...

Well, we made it to Wednesday and no phone call to the vet. Yeah. Yet, I do need to pick up two of Pearl med's at my pharmacy on my way to work.
I am volunteering at a event with the F2F rescue this Saturday.  Dr. Gretchie May will be spending the day at Camp Bow Wow. Will pack her a lunch and snack to take with her. I think I might also surprise her with a peanut butter stuffed Kong for nap time. She doesn't care for nap time this will make it more bearable. Pearl & I will drop her off around 7 AM. Yes ,that bites.  Pearl will be spending the day with me at the event so I can give her the eye drops on time. Plus Pearl loves going to where there are other dogs ...Gretchie not so much. Gretchie does fine at camp ( been going for 6yrs) .... if she gets a attitude with the medium size dogs they move her in with the smaller dogs for awhile. Just like kids.

Dr Meyer here is my paycheck

I woke up Tuesday everything I thought was normal. From Pearl not wanting to get out of bed with Gretchen ready to start her day. Got them both outside to go potty while I fixed their brunch in peace and quiet. Gretchen barked to let me know they were ready to come in. They each sat waiting for me to set their food bowls on the floor for them to eat. "OK, I said eat" and instantly they each started eating their food. I happened to glance over at Gretchen and she had blood coming out of her bum bum. OH,NOOOOOOOOOOOO I cried out. Here we go again. I grabbed the phone and called the vet got appointment for the next morning.
Fast forward Wednesday morning off to the vet we go. I think I could just tell Forrest (my car) to drive to the vet... he surely knows the way by now.  When we pulled onto Port Sheldon Rd the girls start to barking, for they knew where they are going. You would think that they wouldn't like going to the vet after all the "ouchies " that have happen to them there but they do. That shows you that the vet's and the vet techs are awesome with the girls. I park Forrest and get out... open the back door to let the girls out. Diva Pearl jumps right out and Dr. Gretchen follows her in a heart beat. Up to the grass we walk... of course we have to stop to water it a little bit before we go in the hospital. They are waiting for us when we enter and the girls are asked to step up on the scale to get a accurate weight. Gretchen is still loosing  and Pearl is still gaining slowly.  We go in the exam room and the vet tech takes Gretchie to the back for her butt exam. She had her anal glands expressed while back there and Dr found that the blood / puss was coming from the left one.  Whew, a infected anal gland I can deal with. She is on antibiotics for two weeks. Plus now a bi-monthly visit to get the anal glands expressed. I joked that I will be signing over many of my future paychecks to the Drs' here.
The Dr wanted to check Pearl's eye pressure while she was there. YEAH, the pressure is normal "8" in both eyes. Pearl was so patient during all this. The machine was not reading right and it took multiples tries and a phone call to the manufacturer to get it to work right. Vet said she just sat there not putting up any struggle. That is my Pearl for you. Glad that it is Pearl with the eye problem and not Gretchie. I would be a basket case trying to get all those drops in Gretchie eye.She fought me about just 2 drops a day could you imagine 8. I don't even want to think about it.
I have decide not to take Pearl to the ophthalmologist. I have not been working a full 40 hrs so I only have so much money to put towards all these bills we been racking up at the vets. To just walk in to see the ophthalmologist is around $150.00.
I discuss my concerns with Dr Meyer and she feels that they can continue to treat Pearl at the hospital, since we caught it so early and that she is responding so well to treatment. We are going to start weaning Pearl off of some of her med's but she will be on some form of  med's the rest of her life..
I am soooo grateful that my girls aren't afraid of going to the vet. That makes all of this so much easier on me. None of the dogs that have owned me have been afraid of the vets. For that I am truly .....LUCKY

Willing helper.

Pearls was getting eye drops 8 times a day but now we are down to 6 times. I am back to work this week and can not get 2 of the times in. Pearl is being a real trooper about this all. She does not like one of the drops...poor baby. Yet, she lets me put them in her eyes without fighting me. Gretchen is next to us making sure I do it right.
Dr Good called yesterday and wants Pearl to see a canine ophthalmologist. They need to know what kind of glaucoma she has to know what the life time treatment will be. Dr is setting up the appointment for me with one not to far away.
During all this Gretchen has been awesome and way too smart. She knows when I pick up the baggie with all Pearls eye drops in it ...that treats are forth coming. Pearls gets the drops put in her eyes but both dogs get a treat. Go figure. Gretchen is right there waiting for hers. She starts barking at me if she thinks she has been waiting a little to long for hers. She also makes sure the sisser didn't leave any crumbs behind from her treat. Such a good little helper she is.

Stubborn Dog continued

The train goes swiftly by so I am able to turn down the street that the vet is on ...what no excited barking ?...what is wrong here?....they always bark. We finally pull into Georgetown Animal Hospital parking lot. Whew.. we made it.
As it is raining buckets I get out of the car run around to the other side to get the girls out. Open the back door  Gretchen jumps right out like a good girl. Try as I might I couldn't get Pearl to budge, she was putting the brakes on big time. I shut the car door leaving her sitting in the back set while I took Gretchen by her lead and walked quickly up to the door. As we both enter the hospital we hear..."Where is Pearl"?  I say that I can't get Pearl out of the car. The male vet tech comes out from the back room laughing. The three of us go out into the pouring rain to get STUBBORN Pearl. She is a very easy going dog but like her sisser she has a stubborn streak. Ha Ha Pearl.. the vet tech is strong and knows how to pick up dogs who are stubborn.  He carries her to the door and sets her down in front of it. I open the door to let her in and she picks up that diva head of hers walks in like that was how it was suppose to be done. I think she just didn't want to get those diva paws wet.
We are told to go to room one and that the Dr will be there shortly. We barely get in and settled when in the back door of the room opens and in steps Dr Meyer. She checks Pearl out finding that a few of the sutures have been torn out. So she will take Pearl in the back re-suture them. She also put some ointment on the sutures to help with the redness/bruising. Otherwise everything looked good. Whew. No charge for the visit it was considered post-op visit included in the surgery fee.
It was so cute of Gretchen she likes Dr Meyer but is a little leery of her since her surgeries earlier this year. Yet, when Dr Meyer was on her her knees talking to Pearl, Gretchen proudly walked over and put a paw on each of the the Dr knees then put her nose real close to the Dr nose. Smelling her breathe which says I like you. She stood like that for quite awhile. Dr loved it that Gretchen trusts her again. Ahaaa, tender moment. Way to go Gretchie.  I think that Gretchen is glad that she is not the patient this time around she is there only as a moral support for her sisser. So it was OK to trust the Dr again.
All is well with the coon hounds for now.

Gretchie and her new puzzle.

Got back just a little while ago from the vet visit this noon. The eye is looking good but pressure was up a little. Pearl is to continue on the 3 drops and the one pill.  Dr Good is going to consult with a ophthalmologist to see what the life time treatment should be.  Pearl still has her eyesight..Yeah. Plus we weighted Gretchen and she has lost 3 lbs, need a few more off . Way to go Gretchie.
I had ordered a wooden treat puzzle for Gretchen  from PSP and it had come in. We stopped on the way home to pick it up and get a treat from the checkout counter.  When we got home from running errands we had brunch. With Pearl inside napping after brunch I took Gretchie out on the deck with the puzzle. I showed her that there were little treats under the pegs and she very quickly nudge the pegs off of the puzzle to get the treats. Then I showed her that there were treats under the slider pieces. Her feet got to pawing at it until it moved and she got her reward of the treat. Oh..man is she smart she figured it out before I had time to sit down beside her to hold it steady. What I don't do for my girls.

These are pictures are off of the web.

Do we know how to have fun or what?

Pearls has not been able to take walks or visit Grandpaw because of opened wounds. So I have been trying to come up with things to spoil her with. What has she liked the best. A impromptu picnic on the deck we had this morning. What did I serve, you ask?? Why peanut butter on crackers and chicken broth. Yummo..... I had milk instead of the broth. I think this might just become a weekly warm weather tradition here.
I am making some homemade "Frosty Treats" for tomorrows picnic. You take a 32 oz container of plain / vanilla yogurt and 1 small can of tuna fish packed in oil mix together. Freeze in little containers or ice cube trays. This is a messy treat so if you make these be sure to serve them to your 4 legged ones outside. Gretchen just loves these treats but wait what doesn't she love ...only raw carrots.

What is happening with the hounds today.

Pearl's eye is still swollen but looking better each day. She tolerates two of the eye drops but the third one she doesn't like. How she knows when I have that one out to put in her eye is beyond me. She doesn't fight me like her sister Gretchen did but still turns her head away from me and put up a little bit of resistant when I go to put the drop in her eye. I don't have to call her into the kitchen to get her med's anymore.  I just pop open a can of dog food. In about a half a minute she is beside me waiting to get her med's that have been mixed in with can food. That shows me that she is smart in her own way. If it is in her best interest she will figure out how to do something.
She has been enjoying laying out on the deck sometimes in the sunshine... sometimes in the shade. I am going to look into getting another waterproof cushie for the deck. I had brought this one originally for Sheena Marie to use in her old age but no she didn't want anything to do with it. It wasn't until two years later when Pearl joined the family and claimed it that everybody started wanting to use it. They're just like human kids when one has it they all want it.
There was a big fire downtown this morning which was close enough that we could hear all the sirens from the firetrucks that were responding to it. So there was a lot of howling and baying coming from the girls while standing on the back deck. Glad it was late morning when it happen which was good cause my neighbors wouldn't of appreciated all the "hound sound"early in the morning.
The girls helped me with planting my Mothers Day flowers in the deck pots and in the ground yesterday. So I am so looking forward to getting a good ground soaking rain this evening.
My friend Lynn helps my dogs buy and send me a Mothers Day card each year. Isn't that cute. For me it is the little things in life that bring me the great pleasure. So I get a kick out of it.
Hope all you fur and feathers moms had a great Mothers Day too.

Update on the eye

When we got to the vets office the vet tech took Pearl to the back surgery and removed her sutures then came back up front to tell me everything about the incision site is looking very good.  Then Dr Good took a pressure reading of the eye and it has reduce quite a bit but has a ways to go.  They told me that Pearl held very still while they took a reading. As far as the Dr Good can tell Pearl still has sight in that eye. Dr Good was very happy with the progress that Pearl has made so far. We are not out of the woods yet but getting close. She is being so so good about all of this. I am so glad that the Doctors had ordered this instrument ( sample picture) when they did otherwise I would of had to take her to the ER for dogs. We're talking big $$$$$$$$ if that had happened. I take her back on this coming Friday to get another eye pressure reading. Until then we are doing  #1 eye drop 4 times a day, then wait a hour after that dosage to give #2 eye drop after eye drop #1 on the 1 & 3 time, then eye drop #3 after #1 on the 2 & 4th dosage. She gets the antibiotics and pain med and pill to help with pressure during her morning meal. Confused as me. . ....Whew... That is why I have made a chart. She is liking the treat of can food to take her med's with. I am not hearing Gretchen complaining about getting some of the can food either.... What we don't do for our pets. When I adopt... I adopt for life!!!!!
P.S. Will finish posting about her surgery in the next couple of days. I got side tracked with the eye problem.
Thanks for all the emails and comments of support and prayers. Pearl and Me.

Prayers need again for Pearl

This morning Pearl's left eyeball was twice the normal size. Called the vet. Pearls regular vet was booked solid but the other vet had a opening 45 minutes from my phone call. Told the girls to hurry and go potty were hitting the road fast. Drove to the vet's. Got right in ... the vet thought it was a eye injury cause Pearl had dug a hole next to the rose brush and she was afraid she might of scratch her eyeball.  She took Pearl in the back and measured the pressure in her eye with a new instrument they had just got in the day before. Great timing Pearls the first one to use it. Then did some tinting of the eyeball and examined the eye and decided that she has glaucoma real bad. We left with eye drops and pain med's ..drove to the pharmacy where Dr  had call in prescriptions (human ones) for two more drops and a pill. The pharmacy only had the drops . They called around to another pharmacy to see if they had the pills we needed. They found some and offer to pick them up for me and drop them off in my mail box after closing their pharmacy so I would have them tonight to give to her. The pharmacist said that the going price was $70.90 but the other pharmacy was going to let me have them for the old price of $25.00  cause they brought them under the old pricing. Couldn't ask for a nicer pharmacy's. AWESOME . He also ordered the other drops which I can pick up in the morning after 10. I will have to make a chart for all these med's ...one med 3 times a day ...one med twice a day...one med once a day ,etc...
When I got home from work tonight the pills were in the mailbox.  Couldn't ask for better people. Tonight it looks like the swelling has gone down some. She is in good spirits and ate her dinner and is taking the eye drops in stride. It is the pills that I have to hide in food sometime two different times... the little bugger eats the food and spites out the pill LOL We have a post -op appointment on Saturday to get her sutures out which is good cause I have to have her eye pressure checked in 48 hrs. So please keep us in your prayers. I feel so sorry for her... all these health problems for such a sweet dog.
Tears : .....(    It is a good thing I am on vacation next week so I can take on the role of Pearl's nurse.

Urgent News Break In

Dr Meyer just called and Pearls biopsy came back showing it was cancer free.   Whew.   Yet, it is not uncommon for dogs once they get them to get more of those "growths" but they will not be cancerous. I am hoping that
the triple mastectomy will be the only surgery in Pearl's life.

Stubborn Dog

I called the Doctors office yesterday cause I didn't like the looks of Pearls suture site. Made an appointment for this morning at 9:45 AM.  I told Pearl about it but she wasn't to concern. Little did she know.  She had a real red area around some of the sutures and a large balloon like swelling off the the side of the sutures and one real red bumpy spot at the beginning of the sutures. I did not like the looks of any of  it so they said come on in.
Fast forward... Wednesday morning......who doesn't want to get up ? You guessed it. PEARL. I couldn't get her to get up and I couldn't pull her off the bed. So it took a long time to convince her to get up. Finally she is up and moving towards the stairs. Wait, she sits down and won't go down the stairs. So it takes some more convincing to get her down the stairs. Finally were in the living room but wait she runs over and lays on the cushie. Come on, Pearl we need to get you out side and so you can go potty before we leave.  I get her up and into the kitchen she runs and lays down on the cushie in there. I could not get her to move off of it. Now we are running late. I want to pick her up but can not cause of her recent surgery. I go get her collar, put it on her and use it to pull her with and my other hand is pushing her hinny at the same time. Yeah, we made it to the back door.
Woooo ...She puts on the the power brakes. Mom,I am not going out there....it is raining cats and dogs.  I am getting pissed and my voice is showing it and she realizes that she is going out whether she wants to or not. She walks to the edge of the deck but decides she doesn't want to walk down the wooden steps so back she comes to the cement steps. She takes them one at a time making sure she doesn't get her paws wetter than she has too.  Walks around the puddles on the driveway and tentatively puts her paw on the wet grass. Mother nature  takes over she has to pee real bad so on to the grass so goes. Once she is done peeing she realizes she has to go poo also. So she starts doing her little her potty dance ...after about 3 minutes she finds the right spot and goes. She then turns and runs back to the house. I let her in ...big mistake.
Gretchen is ready and waiting by the back door to go to the vets and lend a supporting paw where needed. Pearl is laying on the cushie in the kitchen and won't budge . GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR We are going to be late for the appointment. I tell her in no certain terms that she is getting up and out the door ...NOW.  She moves but under extreme protest. She is out the door and runs all the way to the car ..jumps in all by herself. I shut the door, run back inside to get my purse.  Off we go finally ... I am all tucker out and ready for a nap. There is no singing on the way to the vets. Gretchen was upset that I was raising my voice and thinks she has done something she shouldn't of.
As I am driving a train is running along beside us. Oboy,I am going to be real late cause I can not turn down the street until the train passes by. Did I tell you we are running late ....well make that real late.   too be continue...

Who changed Pearl's on me

When I was at the vets picking up Pearl she seemed just fine for going thru major surgery. When we get home and in the house she stops to get a small drink of water then heads upstairs to my bed to rest. That made it easier to place a warm wet towel and hold it on her swollen tummy as per instructions from the vet.  Gretchie is up there with us being a good sisser not being a bit jealousy like usual. Letting me take care of Pearlie girl. Pearl lets out a moan every now and then but no whining or whimpering while we were taking a short nap. I get up and decide to go down stairs to make a hamburger with cheese for lunch. Gretchie is at my heals as normal but Pearl stays sleeping as normal. Then who should appear in the kitchen doorway when the hamburger is plated and I have just taken my first bite. Well, that would be Pearlie Girl looking at me and begging for a bite. She has never done this before in all the time she lived with me she would rather stay sleeping on the bed. I say "Who did I bring home with me from the vets" ? She looks and sounds and smells like my Pearl but she not a sleepy dog like my Pearl was. Pearl might of been sicker than I thought and with the tumour gone she feels more like being awake...let's hope so. I will love her no matter what cause she is my Pearl. I love her and Gretchie just the way the way God made them.

Update on Pearlie girl.

Vet  tech left me a message that Pearl came thru surgery and was awake. I know Pearl and she won't be awake for very long if she has her way. I know my girl Pearl loves to sleep. I am so relieve now I can sleep with Gretchen beside me and know that I will be picking Pearl up in the morning.
Thanks for all the emails and comments of support for us at this time. Will add to this post after I pick up the little darling.

Surgery day

Well,we over slept but still got Pearlie girl off the the vet in time. Gretchie was up ready the moment the alarm went off at that un-Godly hour of 6:45. Pearl and I not so much, in fact we fell back to sleep. While I am getting up I tell Pearl to get up too. Pearl looks at me saying" Mom the sun isn't even up yet ..why do I have to get up." I explain that we need to get to the vets early, for today is her surgery day. She looks at me and lays her head back down on the bed and closes her eyes. I sing the wake up song and tug on her legs to help her get a going. She is not having any of it. In a stern voice I tell her it is time now to get up. She mosey up to her feet and stretches her front legs and then her back legs. Finally moves to the edge of the bed .... does she jump off no she stretches again. After about 5 minutes from being told to get up she jumps off the bed. Moseys down the stairs and into the living room to curl up on the dog cushie there. I laugh and tell her.." get your fanny to the back door so you can go potty before we leave." All the time this is taking place Gretchie is barking cause she knows something is up. Finally Pearl is out the back door to go potty. I fill a toy with some food for Gretchen and give it to her. She is very happy about that. I wait a few minutes and then put on my coat.  I walk out the back door.  All is well I made it out the door and Gretchen is none the wise.  The back door of the car is open and Diva Pearl jumps in without the normal butt lift I have to give her. I open the latch on the driveway gate.... all of a sudden a loud mournful sound starts coming from the inside the house of the poor dog who discovers she was being left behind is AWFUL. My heart feels for her but I wanted this time alone with Pearl. So I toughen up and drive away leaving one PISSED off dog behind.
Arrived at the vet and take Pearl in . They weight her and she has put on 2 lbs, which brings her to 60. She still needs to add a few more and Gretchie need to loose a few more. I handed her  antibiotics plus the hate E-collar (that her sisser wore after her surgery earlier this year ) over to vet tech. I kissed my Pearlie girl and told her I would be there early on Saturday to bring her home. Oh, how do mothers of real kids do this. I think this is harder on me than her. A few tears and I leave the parking lot.

As I am driving I spied Dunken Donuts so I pull in. I figure that I would get a donut for Gretchie to make up for her being left behind this morning. I got my favorite chocolate honey dip one and an old fashion one for my Gretchie- poo. Hope this does the trick of making up. Which it does. Now the long wait until Pearlie girl is back home where she belongs.

Surgery is in Pearl's near future

I was very lucky and got Pearlie girl in to the vet at 12:30 Monday.  Dr Meyer took a needle biopsy and blood sample from my girl. Well Dr Meyer said the growth needs to be removed. She will be having another benign growth further up her tummy removed at the same time. At the moment it does not look like cancer but that can change once the surgery is done and biopsy is read.
How do I explain to Pearl that she is going in for surgery on Friday morning and will be uncomfortable when she comes out of it. Explain to her that she will be spending the night with a IV in her leg and sleeping in a metal crate at the vets.  How to tell her she will be wearing Gretchen's hated E-collar for probably close to a week. Oh, how my heart breaks in not be able to explain this all to her. How do I let her know that I will be there as soon as they open on Saturday to bring her home where she belongs. I am paying for pain meds' but we know they don't work 100%. If I could I would take Gretchen and we would curl up with Pearl in that crate and spend the night with her.
Yes, I was scared when Gretchen was in surgery but Gretchen is tough.  Remember she took out her own sutures not once but twice. Pearl is my diva dog not so tough very soft around the edges. Tears rolling down my face as I type this. I so wish I could explain this all to her. I want this all to be over with and have a my healthy happy go lucky Pearl back.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Off to the Dr Meyers we go again

Poor poor little Pearlie girl. There was blood on my bedsheets from where she was laying. I couldn't figure out were it was from no blood on either animal. Hmmmm.  A little further looking at each of the dogs I discovered that . ....Oh no, one of Pearl's boobies is leaking blood. So early Monday morning will be placing a call to get her in to see the vet, Dr Meyer.  I asked my friend Julie(vet tech) if she thought it could be cancer and she answered that cancer usually doesn't bleed. So that eased my mind about  it. So your prayers and good thoughts are needed for me and Pearlie girl to get though this ordeal.

Oh my poor poor carpet.

Pearl has had the runs. Where might you ask on the linoleum or the  wood floor ....nooooooo on the carpet in the dining room. Between Sheena Marie and Pearl the carpet is shot. I will be ripping it up this summer.
Pearl is now on a pumpkin / rice/ boiled hamburger diet for the rest of the week. Do I hear any complaints from her,  no. She is loving it. Can a coon hound be part Asian cause she loves / adores any kind of rice. She likes to eat it plain as a snack. "Yummo", she says.
Off to the store to buy more pumpkin and hamburger and PAPER TOWELS. I don't like to use paper towels, I think it is such a waste when cloth rugs will do just fine. Save a tree for the future children to enjoy. This is one time I feel need to use them .
Get better Pearl my girl. By the way Gretchen isn't complaining either. Like she would. She loves anything that is food but raw carrots.

UPDATE.... Pearl is feeling much better tonite. There were no more "packages" on the carpet or anywhere else tonite when I came home from work. Yeah

Back up singer

Our vet visit showed that Gretchen and Pearl are doing just fine. Gretchen needs to drop a little weight and Pearl needs to add 2 lbs. Strange when they both get the same amount of the same dog food. I think it is cause Gretchen was "stealing" from the dog food container. Which is now being kept in the bathroom behind a closed door when I am not at home. Gretchen is pissed cause she is getting less food then her sister.  It will remain that way until she drops some of the gained weight . Yes, she know she is getting less how I don't know. With smaller pieces of treats also = one unhappy Gretchen May.
On a happier note.... We now have a back up singer when Gretchen and I sing. Neither of us can carry a tune but it doesn't stop us having fun singing. Gretchen sits up straight and kind of sings (OK ,barks ) the words. Her favorite song is, "If your happy and you know it wag your tail". Pearl will join in but stay laying down and pick her head up if she feels like it (or not) and goes the ar-ruh, ar-ruh, aruh ar-ruuuuuuuuuuuuuh in the hound doggy way. She will work her way into the baying sound. Gretchen and I say she is the perfect backup singer for us. It is just so funny to experience.

Guess who was helpful

I left my blueberry bagel in the toaster to long and it burnt. Bummer for me but wait don't worry it didn't go to waste. My two beautiful coon hounds came to the rescue. They thought it was so yummy... Pearl even pushed Gretchen out of the way to get her share. Well, I know they have charcoal flavored dog treats at the dog party store (pet store) so this was just was a homemade version with blueberries in them. Nice snack burnt bagel and hard boiled egg. Yum mo, for them. Staying on the path of homemade snacks by default. LOL

Baking Update

I am baking & baking for the fundraiser tomorrow. The hounds are going crazy won't leave the kitchen  have to step over them and tell them to back up all the time. They are the ones who give a paws up or down on the goodies. Gretchen is not really a good taste judge cause she tried to eat my cellphone. LOL  But Diva Pearl is.. she is picky eater but loves homemade yummies.
Fundraiser was a success Julie raised enough money to cover the filing fee for the nonprofit tax papers (501C)for the rescue. Way to go.

I opened it up and the screen is all messed up. As luck would have it I can only turn it on and off . LOL I don't think I was meant to have a cell phone cause I also have washed one in the washing of my winter coat now this. Grrrrrrr trying to get all those phone numbers in the new one I have to buy stinks big time. This is what I get for being nice and baking her brownies Grrrrrrr.

Wow Mom mades us brownies

I was baking some all natural dog friendly brownies for sale at a adoption event for Fur to Feather Rescue. Well, I of course had my taste testers approve them first. The brownies passed with flying colors. Gretchen and Pearl wanted more of them. I tried to explain that the rest of the brownies were for sale to raise money but I would bake some more on Sunday for them and their friends. Gave the all gone hand wave but Gretchen wasn't buying it. She could smell them up on the counter. I had to put them out in the car way before I was leaving just to get them away from that nose of Gretchen's.

The recipe came from my cook book "Cooking the Three Dog Bakery Way". They are real simple  to make so I am including the recipe.

Belly Rub Brownies

1 1/4 C flour
3 Tbs carob powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 C canola oil
3/4 C honey

***** cocoa powder is not good for dogs for it is chocolate *****

Add all dry ingredients together  in a med bowl set aside. In a small bowl whisk together the oil & honey. Add eggs one at a time, whisking to incorporate. Add the wet to the dry and stir until well blended.  Pour into a  greased 9x9x9 or 8x8x8x pan. Put into a med oven at 350.  Bake until the brownies pull away from the sides of the pan around 20-25 min. Cool and cut into appropriate size bars for your dog (s). If they last long enough you can store up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.  Enjoy.

They sold all brownies that we donationed. I was asked to make a basket of homemade natural cookies and bars for a raffle this Sunday for the same group to raise funds. Of course there will be extra baking for my two to have some to eat also.

Add on ******Carob powder can be found in your local health food store.******

What were out of DOG FOOD???? Oh No

It is off to Costco to buy dog food. We have not a kibble in the house. No can food either.  I try to explain but Gretchen doesn't understand that I have to buy the food before she gets her breakfast today. So those of us who wear harness got them on and the right leashes attached. Gretchen has a purple leash with two hand grips on it . One about half way down the leash which I grab when I need more control over her movements. Pearls just has a regular girlie pink leash. Down the front steps in a flash over to the car in abound we go. I open car door Gretchie jumps right in. Pearl puts both front feet on the seat and turns to me with a look that says she is ready for her bum bum to be lifted up onto the car seat. Off we go on the snow cover ground with each dog having  her head out of a different window in the  car.  Nice man in pickup truck at the light, rolls down his window while smiling at us and talks to the girls who are woofing and barking merrily in response.
Great disappointing look on their faces when I left them in the car at Costco. They thought that they should get to go inside with me. I did my shopping quickly. When I came back to car I opened the back end of the car and put dog food in as they watched from over the back seat . Then I got in the driver seat noticing nothing was out of place so could see that the girls were well behaved while I was gone. I turned my head to them and  said " You girls deserve a outing to stretch your legs so we will go across the street to Pet Supplies Plus."  I drove across the street and parked the car. When I reached for leashes the dogs smiled and started singing cause they knew that they would get to go inside. Once inside we greeted everyone in the shop. Gretchen did a little shoplifting out of one of the open treats bins when my back was turned.  The shop knows it will happen so I just looked at her and told her that was not right. She looked back at me with those knowing eyes that  said ..."Hey. Mom  I was wrong but it tasted oh so good."  We walked the rest of the way down the treat isle and picked out a small bag of breath treats to buy. Walked over to the check out counter to pay and they got excited cause they know that there are free cookies in a bowl on the counter. If they are quiet they each get one before we leave the shop. This time Pearl was not so choosy about the kind of treat she got. She now knows that if she lets a treat start to fall out of her mouth it will not hit the ground but will be caught and eaten by Gretchen.  So she now takes what is offered her. We leave the shop and walk to the car with the same getting in pattern as before.
On the snowy drive home I said the magic words . "Do you want to stop at Taco Taco Bell"? . Barking and woofing started with pacing of the back seat till we reached TTB. I tried to place our order but once again  Gretchen and Pearlie were being  naughty and making to much noise for them to hear our order. I said ..."Quiet please or no TTB.  You could of heard an pin drop it became so quiet so quickly.  Placed order and drove forward to the take away window.  Lady understood cause she also has dogs who love TTB.  Got order and drove the short drive home. Out to the backyard to go potty. Then back in  the house in a flash to get some of the TTB with the newly purchased kibbles. Yummo. With tummy's full it was up to mom bed to take a nap.

Oh no here we go again

Late yesterday Gretchen came up to me and her right eye had the cherry eye look. Plus  a green eye booger. I quickly went  to the dog drawer and got out some of her eye drops to put in her eye...much to her dismay. I also went to get some chicken chicken to show her that if she let me put the drops in her eyes she would get a big piece of chicken chicken. She was having none of it so the merry chase was on.  After about 5 minutes she was cornered and drops applied .Chicken chicken was eaten. She is so forgiving when all was done. Came up for a cuddle and a sing along.  Hope this eye will correct itself do not want to go thru another surgery with the hate e-ollar afterwards. I am sure she doesn't either.

Look Ma no limp

Great news Pearl got up this morning and didn't have the limp. She ran down the stairs to the back door to be let out to go potty. So woo hoo no vet visit on Saturday. Since I do not have to spend money at the vet ... I told her that we would clean up the back yard and then we would head on over to Taco Taco Bell  to celebrate. Her ears perked up. My dogs know what  the words Taco Taco Bell mean. They will get a short ride and then get to share a soft taco. I am looking forward to the tacos sharing but not the cleaning up. The snow has disappeared and now all the "bombs" "poop" needs to go. Any helpers out here? I will buy you a taco or two or even three.

Pupcakes

When  Gretchen & I got this morning we decided to make pupcakes (pancakes). Pearl didn't want to get out of bed. I let her stay while I made breakfast. Lo & behold who comes limping into the kitchen to get her share but Diva Pearl. I checked her leg & didn't see anything that would cause her to limp. Gave her a aspirin in one bite of her pupcakes. Will keep an eye on it. If need be she will go to the vet on Saturday.
The girls are loving this warmer weather. They are staying outside longer and longer. I get to eat somethings all by myself...do not  have to share .  Remembering when Sheena Marie was alive sharing with the three of them left little for me.  LOL

Wandering Pearl

Not much happening here. I am working long hours and come home exhausted. So we haven't  been getting out much.                                                                                                                                                                             We did however get out and go see Grandpaw at the Veterans Home. While I was there my dad asked me to help him with getting something out of the drawer. Pearl  took that moment to decide to walk out of the room. I did not see her leave cause my back was to the door.  My dogs are really pretty good at staying close by me when we are visiting.  Yet, she made it all the way down to the lunch room at the end of the hallway. Trotting by the med nurse and the head nurse in the middle of the hallway on her way.  I noticed she was gone when I was thru helping Grandpaw and went looking for her. I wasn't too concern for everyone knows my Pearl and looks out for her. I asked of those in the hallway  if anybody has seen her. The nurse's laugh and said ,"yes "quite embarrassed that they didn't stop her from wandering. A second later Big Russ steps out of the lunch room with Pearl by his side. As he is walking out he is looking down at her explaining that she is not to be in the lunch room while they eat and to come back after their done eating. Meanwhile Gretchen is being good waiting just outside of Grandpaw doorway watching and listening to what is going on. You could see Gretchen is thinking way to go Pearl your in trouble not me this time.

We have a new online fur friend named Trixie. Isn't she a cutie pie.

We now have a new on line friend her name is Trixie. That is her on the cover of the pet magazine. LOL She has awesome parents, there names are Granny and Grampy. They all live together in Indiana. Trixie is spoiled just like us. Grampy clears off a path so she can go potty in all this snow they are having down there too. Granny made Trixie a traveling bag for her treats and water for when she goes on car rides. Granny recycles things others would throw away into usable items. .
Granny makes these awesome bags called plarn bags. Which are recycled  plastic bags cut up and crochet into purses. Check out her blog @ http://grannyjsplace.blogspot.com/.
It is late and mom wants to turn the computer off. Sisser is already up stairs in bed waiting for us to come up so she can get her night night cookie. Tail wags and nose kisses to all.
                            Love,
                                   Diva Pearl

That is me Pearl  just after I had weaned my pups.

Red Velvet Pupcakes

Adapted from Kaboose.com
Red velvet is all the rage in the world of cupcakes these days. So why not try these crimson-hued beauties on your best friend? Beet juice gives them their color, an whole-wheat flour gives them fiber. The cottage cheese icing helps make these trendy treats a balanced meal.
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/3 cup beet puree or fresh beet juice
  • 1 and 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a six-cup muffin tin with muffin cups.
  2. In a large bowl whisk together oil, applesauce and beet puree.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Slowly stir flour mixture into the wet ingredients.
  4. Spoon batter into muffin cups to three-quarters full and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a cupcake comes out clean. Remove cupcakes from the pan and cool on a rack.
  5. In the bowl of a food processor, puree cottage cheese until smooth, about 30 seconds. Keep frosting refrigerated until cupcakes are completely cool. Frost and serve.

Valentine Liver Nibbles Recipe

From The Honest Kitchen
Nothing says "Be my Valentine" better than a blender full of raw beef liver. You have to love your dog a lot to pop that special ingredient into your blender and then make yourself a smoothie in it the next day. These treats are very nutritious and judging from our dogs' reactions, very delicious.
Ingredients
  • 1 lb fresh raw organic beef liver or chicken liver
  • 3 free range eggs
  • 1/4 cup canola or other vegetable oil
  • 2 cups instant oats
  • 1 Tbsp applesauce (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)
  • 3 Tbsp powdered kelp
  • Filtered water sufficient to make a batter
Preparation
Process the liver in a blender or food processor until completely pureed. Beat the eggs in a bowl and pour in the oil. Add the liver. Mix in the dry ingredients slowly, stirring continuously so they are thoroughly combined. Add water gradually, until you have a "batter" consistency. Pour this batter into a loaf tin. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool in the tin until able to be handled, then gently turn the loaf out onto a rack and refrigerate to cool completely. Cut with heart-shaped cookie cutter. Store in a sealed container.

A Recipe for Homemade Dog Treats

Grind 4 ounces of raw white rice in an old coffee mill until it looks like cream of rice. Mix in 2 egg whites or 1 whole egg and 4 ounces of plain canned pumpkin or well mashed ripe banana. Spread in a 8"x8" or 9"x9" pan lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350* for 15-20 minutes until browned on edges and the middle is firm. I cut right away with a pizza cutter into 16 squares. Store in the freezer. These can be used for training as they can easily broken into small bits but isn't crumbly

Homemade Treat Tip

Turkey Treats: 1 lb ground turkey, 1 Tbsp garlic powder, 1 egg, 1-1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup flour. Press in a greased glass pan sprayed lightly with Pam. Cut in squares. Microwave 7-8 minutes

OK who switch dogs on me

It is 26 degrees outside the sun is shining and where are my two couch potato's OUTSIDE. LOL Last year I couldn't get them to stay outside more than to potty and back in they came. Today they have been outside until they start woofing and barking it up which makes it so I have to call them in. In for a snack of a peanut butter sandwich and to rest for awhile. Then up pops Gretchen / Pearl at the back door wanting out again. I feel like a door man. Any one know of a revolving door for pets ?
I had them diving off the deck into the snow for dry dog food. Gretchen loves the game a lot , Pearl not so much. Pearl looks at me saying; "Mom, that is way to much work . Can you just give me my share here on the deck, please?"
My backyard looks like a herd of elephants marched thru it. Not a inch of snow that doesn't have paw prints in it. The fat squirrels have been out in the big tree teasing the dogs unmercifully. The girls have been running to and fro all over the yard chasing who knows what.  I know tonight there will be a lot of yipping and grunting and whimpering in their dreams while they sleep.

How Gretchen got her Dr. before her name.

This pass fall Gretchen developed something called cherry eye which needed to be surgically corrected. I thought it would be a good idea to have the growth on her back leg just above the knee removed at the same time. To save me some  money and time in the future.
Well..... it didn't turn out that way, she took her own stitches out not once but twice. The first time I took her back to the vet they stapled it back together. The second time they had to put her under and clean and gather up the raw edges to re -stitch it . Spent a lot more money than I wanted too. But my gosh I love my coon hounds.

These are the emails sent to the vet Dr. Meyer during all this fuss when Gretchen had her surgery .

I went to bowling this afternoon and came home to a E-collarless dog . Who decided to rip out her stitches from her hind leg. Bloody mess.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrr As far as I can tell she did not touch her eye.   I am bringing  her in early and will leave her to get it cleaned and re- stitched. I have a DR appt at 9:15 on the other side of GR. When done I could come back and pick her up. If need be I can leave her overnight.

My Gretchen + hated harness + much hated  E-collar = one moody whinny pissed off dog.
I got home took off leash/harness and let her spend sometime out in the yard while I went in to get Diva Pearl... Got back out side just as Gretchen slipped out of her E-collar. So now when out of my sight she has the hated harness on which the hated E-collar is tied to. She is not happy with me at all. Being a mean mother is hard on me too I tell her. She gave me the look that says," I not buying it, mom". LOL

A big Thanks for letting me just drop in and leave her on Friday. I knew I was leaving her in best hands , didn't worry as much as last time.  You all are the best♥♥♥ !!!!!!!
Thank God for all the over time I've been getting.    Sorry but another vet bill just wasn't what I had planned to spend it on. Still glad you were there for us. Natalie

Hey, maybe this E- collar thingy isn't that bad. My sisser Diva Pearl stays out of my way. Mom feels sorry for me and lets me have some of her good yogurt all to myself yummy for my tummy  banana strawberry not that cheap vanilla I usually get. I am getting lots of tummy rubs and ears scratches. I get more of the blanket at night time. I am pissing off my nasty neighbor more cause now my barking is magnified and I can direct it at his house. LOL  That is all for now cause I hear Mom and Diva Pearl coming .
                     Your loving patient,
