It is off to Costco to buy dog food. We have not a kibble in the house. No can food either. I try to explain but Gretchen doesn't understand that I have to buy the food before she gets her breakfast today. So those of us who wear harness got them on and the right leashes attached. Gretchen has a purple leash with two hand grips on it . One about half way down the leash which I grab when I need more control over her movements. Pearls just has a regular girlie pink leash. Down the front steps in a flash over to the car in abound we go. I open car door Gretchie jumps right in. Pearl puts both front feet on the seat and turns to me with a look that says she is ready for her bum bum to be lifted up onto the car seat. Off we go on the snow cover ground with each dog having her head out of a different window in the car. Nice man in pickup truck at the light, rolls down his window while smiling at us and talks to the girls who are woofing and barking merrily in response.
Great disappointing look on their faces when I left them in the car at Costco. They thought that they should get to go inside with me. I did my shopping quickly. When I came back to car I opened the back end of the car and put dog food in as they watched from over the back seat . Then I got in the driver seat noticing nothing was out of place so could see that the girls were well behaved while I was gone. I turned my head to them and said " You girls deserve a outing to stretch your legs so we will go across the street to Pet Supplies Plus." I drove across the street and parked the car. When I reached for leashes the dogs smiled and started singing cause they knew that they would get to go inside. Once inside we greeted everyone in the shop. Gretchen did a little shoplifting out of one of the open treats bins when my back was turned. The shop knows it will happen so I just looked at her and told her that was not right. She looked back at me with those knowing eyes that said ..."Hey. Mom I was wrong but it tasted oh so good." We walked the rest of the way down the treat isle and picked out a small bag of breath treats to buy. Walked over to the check out counter to pay and they got excited cause they know that there are free cookies in a bowl on the counter. If they are quiet they each get one before we leave the shop. This time Pearl was not so choosy about the kind of treat she got. She now knows that if she lets a treat start to fall out of her mouth it will not hit the ground but will be caught and eaten by Gretchen. So she now takes what is offered her. We leave the shop and walk to the car with the same getting in pattern as before.
On the snowy drive home I said the magic words . "Do you want to stop at Taco Taco Bell"? . Barking and woofing started with pacing of the back seat till we reached TTB. I tried to place our order but once again Gretchen and Pearlie were being naughty and making to much noise for them to hear our order. I said ..."Quiet please or no TTB. You could of heard an pin drop it became so quiet so quickly. Placed order and drove forward to the take away window. Lady understood cause she also has dogs who love TTB. Got order and drove the short drive home. Out to the backyard to go potty. Then back in the house in a flash to get some of the TTB with the newly purchased kibbles. Yummo. With tummy's full it was up to mom bed to take a nap.
