Canadian Friend's dog Sam, needs your prayers

This is what she wrote on her blog ..
http://melsbackyard-mb.blogspot.com/             Sam is very sick.
Pic of handsome Sam copied from her blog

He has a mass under his tongue on both sides. He had surgery to remove the growth and now the waiting game of whether it is cancer or not. A week is a long time to wait for the test to come back. So please join me by keeping them in your thoughts and prayers. I know that Sam will be getting the best TLC that Mel has to offer him.  He will get the best seat for TV viewing during his recovery, the most comfortable cushie, best treats, all the love one dog can get from his two legged mom. Gretchie and Pearlie are pulling for you, Sam the Ham.

OK , I turn the ceiling fan on....who crowds the bed right under neath it.  You got it the "houndies".  If I have the floor fan running who also lays in right front of it.. panting their hot breathes . Yep per, the "houndies". I am thinking about getting a fan just for me.

We are real coon hounds now.

Mom was not very happy when ... I Gretchie May from a deep snoring ,leg twitching sleep at 3:30 A.M.  ....
woke up with a blood curdling houndie bay ...that could not only wake the sleeping (that being my mom) but the dead as well..... I was beside myself with overwhelming glee a real raccoon in my neighbor's tree a mere 15 feet from my bedroom window....WOO HOO. Even my sisser Diva Pearlie girl sat up right and joined with me at the top of her lungs baying at it.  We were so excited ...mom not so much... being woken up from a deep dream sleep ...to us baying our goofy houndie heads off. Mom took a picture of it and than mom had to go outside to scare it off before we would quit with all the houndie sound.. She was afraid someone would call the law on us being sooo noisy.  OK, mom you can go back to sleep now.....rest assured that your coon hounds know what a raccoon looks and smells like. Nitey Nite Mom , your loving daughter Gretchie May

Gretchen lives for her stomach

Last night I came home from work finding only Gretchen to greet me at the door. We walked to the back door and I let her outside than I went up to get Pearl off the bed. She got up and off the bed so I came back down stairs. I heard Gretchie bark that she was ready to come in so I went to let her in. Turned around and still no Pearl. I gave Gretchie her coming in snack while again I called to Pearl to come down. She was having none of it so I just let her stay up there.
Gretchie wanted her din din and kept bugging me for it. I told her when Pearl gets her bum bum down here I will feed them both. She continued to bug me for close to a 1/2 hour. I finally notice that she had left my side, ummmmmm how come? All of a sudden I hear this weird barking and yapping and whining coming from up stairs. It was so funny to hear Gretchie up there trying to get Pearl up and off the bed.  I heard Pearl jump off of the bed and her feet hit the floor. I heard Gretchie come running down the stairs only to turn back around to go back up cause Pearl wasn't following her. She did some more yapping and barking and finally Pearls starts down the stairs. Gretchie runs to me all happy ...trying to convey that she got her sisser to come down so feed me now. Finally Pearl sticks her head in the kitchen. You could tell that Gretchen was beside herself that she got Pearl to come down stairs all on her own with out my help. I start making din-din for them. I noticed after I bending over Pearl to give her a pat on the head that her head and neck were all wet...my I thought that was strange....... Oh, I laughed  because that was how Gretchie got Pearl to get off of the bed and down stairs by not only barking but mouthing her neck and head. Oh, that Gretchie continues to amaze me how really smart she is.

We made it to Wednesday...

Well, we made it to Wednesday and no phone call to the vet. Yeah. Yet, I do need to pick up two of Pearl med's at my pharmacy on my way to work.
I am volunteering at a event with the F2F rescue this Saturday.  Dr. Gretchie May will be spending the day at Camp Bow Wow. Will pack her a lunch and snack to take with her. I think I might also surprise her with a peanut butter stuffed Kong for nap time. She doesn't care for nap time this will make it more bearable. Pearl & I will drop her off around 7 AM. Yes ,that bites.  Pearl will be spending the day with me at the event so I can give her the eye drops on time. Plus Pearl loves going to where there are other dogs ...Gretchie not so much. Gretchie does fine at camp ( been going for 6yrs) .... if she gets a attitude with the medium size dogs they move her in with the smaller dogs for awhile. Just like kids.
