Baking Update

      I am baking & baking for the fundraiser tomorrow. The hounds are going crazy won't leave the kitchen  have to step over them and tell them to back up all the time. They are the ones who give a paws up or down on the goodies. Gretchen is not really a good taste judge cause she tried to eat my cellphone. LOL  But Diva Pearl is.. she is picky eater but loves homemade yummies.
     Fundraiser was a success Julie raised enough money to cover the filing fee for the nonprofit tax papers (501C)for the rescue. Way to go.

Grrrrrrrrrrr Gretchen chewed my cell phone..

         I came home from work & no dogs come to greet me at the door. Grrrrrr something is up. I go up stairs and find my cell phone on the floor with chew marks on it. I opened it up and the screen is all messed up. As luck would have it I can only turn it on and off . LOL I don't think I was meant to have a cell phone cause I also have washed one in the washing of my winter coat now this. Grrrrrrr trying to get all those phone numbers in the new one I have to buy stinks big time. This is what I get for being nice and baking her brownies Grrrrrrr.

Wow Mom mades us brownies

        I was baking some all natural dog friendly brownies for sale at a adoption event for Fur to Feather Rescue. Well, I of course had my taste testers approve them first. The brownies passed with flying colors. Gretchen and Pearl wanted more of them. I tried to explain that the rest of the brownies were for sale to raise money but I would bake some more on Sunday for them and their friends. Gave the all gone hand wave but Gretchen wasn't buying it. She could smell them up on the counter. I had to put them out in the car way before I was leaving just to get them away from that nose of Gretchen's.

       The recipe came from my cook book "Cooking the Three Dog Bakery Way". They are real simple  to make so I am including the recipe.

Belly Rub Brownies

1 1/4 C flour
3 Tbs carob powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 C canola oil
3/4 C honey

     ***** cocoa powder is not good for dogs for it is chocolate *****

      Add all dry ingredients together  in a med bowl set aside. In a small bowl whisk together the oil & honey. Add eggs one at a time, whisking to incorporate. Add the wet to the dry and stir until well blended.  Pour into a  greased 9x9x9 or 8x8x8x pan. Put into a med oven at 350.  Bake until the brownies pull away from the sides of the pan around 20-25 min. Cool and cut into appropriate size bars for your dog (s). If they last long enough you can store up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.  Enjoy.

    They sold all brownies that we donationed. I was asked to make a basket of homemade natural cookies and bars for a raffle this Sunday for the same group to raise funds. Of course there will be extra baking for my two to have some to eat also.

Oh no Mommy sick

I have been sick with a little bit of everything for the past week. The girls have been great let me sleep the whole time. Missed two days of work and will try going in today, Will blog soon.
